Season 3 of TV series “Invincible” aired from February 6 to March 13, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video nearly a year after Season 2 aired in April 2024. The show, recognized for its action-packed story, iconic characters, and eye-gouging brutality, has met high critical acclaim since Season 1’s airing in 2021—a standard Season 3 absolutely meets.

Season 3’s greatly praised and lauded finale, rated at a 9.9/10 on IMDB, begins in the aftermath of the Invincible War, as a defeated Mark encounters the old and powerful Viltrumite Conquest, who had been sent to force Mark to comply with the Viltrum empire and conquer Earth—or kill Mark and conquer Earth regardless. 

The ensuing final battle was arguably the best in the series so far, with memorable moments scattered throughout the fights as a battle-delighted and ecstatic Conquest clashes with an enraged and bloodlusted Mark. More than a few bodies drop throughout the savagely iconic fight, which ends with Mark winning.

The season, especially its final two episodes, gained massive popularity and praise in the media. One of the more popular trends in the fanbase has been to use an evil invincible variant as a profile picture online; it’s not uncommon to see one of these profiles in an instagram comment section or on your following list.

The most prominent negative feedback for the season—and for the show as a whole—is criticism of the lackluster animation quality of the show despite its massive success. Fans are wondering why such an acclaimed series still suffers from what is called “slideshow animation.” 

However, it goes on to show that even without the flashiness of a massive animation team and budget, the show has still managed to outshine all others during its airing time. Complex character writing, interesting plotlines, memorable villains and side characters, and engaging action sequences have managed to attract a massive viewership and fanbase, demonstrating that even with a small budget, a good story helps a show succeed.
