The women’s softball team had an amazing overall record at 9-4 but in the league, they are 9-1. The team was the most winning out of all of the sports here at Mt. Eden. What a season!
The team has supportive teammates, coaches, and fans which keeps them working hard. “What kept me motivated is my dad, teammates, friends, and supporters. Every moment I see my team is honestly a blessing and memory I will never forget,” said senior Andriana Monroe.
“Working hard to maintain the collegiate level is what motivates me to pursue soft- ball, even after high school,” said junior Andrea Toledo. The players are a close group, have a good sense of trust and communication and they get along with one another well. This sentiment is echoed by many on the team including junior Daniella Montes. “I think whoever wants to join softball should. The coaches are very welcoming and they’re always here to help others in improving as not only players but as a person as well.”
Not only was this season a wonderful group effort that was successful, many of the players were recognized for their outstanding individual achievements. Star softball player sophomore Annalise Burgos received the award of Girls Athlete of the Week in the Mercury News. She was nominated for her talent and got numerous votes from family, friends, and fans. “I love them so much and am very thankful,” said Burgos.
